One cannot think of Hyderabad and One cannot think of Hyderabad and not think of the Char Minar. This magnificent gateway stands timelessly in the center of Hyderabad as humanity swirls around it. Bustling bazaars, bangle shops and food stalls surround it’s majesty. Hyderabad, once the capital of the Nizams, easily rivals any of the palatial kingdoms of Rajasthan. Magnificent palaces such as the Chowmahalla Palace and Falaknuma Palace (now a luxury hotel) and the imposing Golkonda fortress are only the tip of the iceberg. A rich tradition of Sufism exists in the city, and the practice of Qawwali singing (a Sufi chorus) is very much alive and well. The food is another story - Hyderabadi cuisine is truly some of the finest that will ever cross your Palete. Fragrant biryanis, kebabs, samosas and more... but Hyderabad has other hidden heritage secrets that intrigue us. Some of the oldest and noblest perfumers come from here and it’s got a fantastic heritage of Ikkat weaving and textiles. A short drive from the center takes you to the world’s largest film sets at Ramoji Film City! One could easily spend days here exploring the city and not experience it all.
