Itinerary

Day 1 — Airport ? Waikkala / Marawila
Arrival at Colombo International Airport, where you are warmly welcomed by our representative. Transfer along the palm-fringed west coast to Waikkala or Marawila, peaceful seaside towns known for their long sandy beaches and relaxed atmosphere. Time to unwind after your journey, enjoy the sea breeze and tropical surroundings. Dinner & overnight at the beach hotel.
Day 2 — Negombo & Muthurajawella Wetlands
This morning, visit Negombo, a lively coastal town shaped by centuries of Portuguese and Dutch influence. Discover its bustling fish markets, colourful catamarans, canals and strong Catholic heritage, visible in its churches and daily life. Continue with a boat safari through the Muthurajawella Wetlands, one of Sri Lanka’s most important coastal ecosystems. Glide through mangroves and waterways while observing birds, monitor lizards and other wildlife in a serene natural setting. Return to the hotel for a leisurely afternoon on the beach. Dinner & overnight at the beach hotel.
Day 3 — Waikkala / Marawila ? Habarana ? Sigiriya
Drive inland toward Sri Lanka’s Cultural Triangle, where ancient civilizations flourished. In Habarana, enjoy an optional elephant-back experience, offering memorable photo opportunities amid village scenery and natural landscapes (optional, subject to conditions). In the afternoon, embark on a jeep safari in Minneriya National Park, famous for its large elephant population and rich biodiversity. During the dry season, the park hosts impressive gatherings of wild elephants around the reservoir. Proceed to Sigiriya. Dinner & overnight in Sigiriya.
Day 4 — Sigiriya & Ancient Polonnaruwa
Morning ascent of the legendary Sigiriya Lion Rock Fortress (UNESCO World Heritage Site). Climb through landscaped gardens, past ancient frescoes and the iconic lion’s paws to reach the summit, where breathtaking panoramic views await. Continue to Polonnaruwa, the splendid medieval capital of Sri Lanka in the 11th century. Explore well-preserved palaces, temples, colossal Buddha statues and ancient irrigation reservoirs. A bicycle visit is available for a fun and interactive way to explore the site, particularly enjoyable for families. Return to Sigiriya. Dinner & overnight in Sigiriya.
Day 5 — Dambulla ? Nalanda ? Matale ? Kandy
Visit the Dambulla Golden Rock Cave Temple (UNESCO), a remarkable complex of cave shrines adorned with Buddha statues and vivid wall paintings spanning over 2,000 years. Stop at the mystical Nalanda Gedige, a unique stone temple blending Hindu and Buddhist architectural influences. In Matale, enjoy a guided walk through a Spice Garden, learning about Sri Lanka’s famed spices — cinnamon, pepper, cardamom, cloves — and their role in Ayurveda. Continue to Kandy, the island’s spiritual heart, set amid green hills. In the evening, attend a vibrant Cultural Dance Show, followed by a visit to the sacred Temple of the Tooth Relic, one of Buddhism’s most revered pilgrimage sites. Dinner & overnight in Kandy.
Day 6 — Kandy, Tea Country & Botanical Gardens
Travel into the surrounding highlands to visit a tea plantation and factory, discovering the process behind world-famous Ceylon Tea, from leaf to cup. Return to Kandy to explore the magnificent Peradeniya Royal Botanical Gardens, home to more than 4,000 species of plants, including palms, orchids and medicinal plants. Enjoy a panoramic city tour of Kandy and visit the Kandy Museum (subject to opening times), offering deeper insight into the city’s royal and religious heritage. Dinner & overnight in Kandy.
Day 7 — Kandy ? Pinnawala ? Beruwela
Morning visit to Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage, where rescued elephants are cared for. Witness feeding time and observe these gentle giants up close in a protected environment. Continue toward the southwest coast and arrive in Beruwela, a long-established beach destination known for its golden sands and calm waters. Dinner & overnight at the beach hotel.
Day 8 — Beruwela – Free Day
A full day at leisure to enjoy the beach and hotel facilities. Optional activities may include swimming, spa treatments, water sports or short excursions. Time to relax and soak up the tropical ambience. Breakfast, dinner & overnight at the beach hotel.
Day 9 — Beruwela ? Airport
According to your flight schedule, transfer to Colombo International Airport. If time permits, a city tour and shopping stop may be arranged en route. Departure, marking the end of a memorable journey through Sri Lanka.
