1. Visa : Travelers staying less than 30 days in the Maldives generally do not need a visa. Upon arrival, they will obtain a free visa. Be sure to check specific requirements based on your nationality before you travel.

2. Currency : The official currency of the Maldives is the Maldivian Rupee (MVR). Foreign currencies such as US Dollars and Euros are generally accepted in hotels, resorts and tourist areas. Credit cards are widely accepted, but it's always good to have some cash on hand for small purchases.

3. Health : No specific vaccinations are required to enter the Maldives, but it is recommended to be up to date on basic vaccinations. Make sure you have travel insurance that covers medical expenses and evacuation in the event of an emergency. Avoid drinking tap water and opt for sealed bottled water.

4. Climate : The Maldives has a tropical climate with two main seasons: the dry season (November to April) and the rainy season (May to October). Temperatures remain warm all year round, with average temperatures varying between 25°C and 30°C.

5. Safety : The Maldives is generally safe for travelers, but it is always advisable to take basic safety precautions. Obey local laws and avoid isolated areas, especially at night.

6. Culture and customs : The Maldives is a Muslim country and visitors should respect local customs. Wear modest clothing outside of resorts, especially when visiting local islands. Avoid consuming alcohol outside of resorts, where it is generally permitted.

7. Transportation : Travel between islands is generally by boat or seaplane. Transfers to resorts are often organized by the resorts themselves. On inhabited islands you can get around on foot or by local taxi.

8. Language : The official language of the Maldives is Dhivehi, but English is widely spoken in tourist areas.

9. Tipping for drivers and guides : Tipping is not obligatory in the Maldives, but it is appreciated for good service. Tipping around 5-10% of the total tour cost is common for guides and drivers.

10. Electricity : The electrical voltage in the Maldives is 230 volts and the frequency is 50 Hz. Electrical outlets are generally type D and G. Make sure you have a universal adapter if necessary to plug in your electrical appliances.

11. Internet Connection : Most resorts and hotels in Maldives offer free Wi-Fi Internet connection for guests. However, on some more remote islands, connection quality may be limited. It is best to check with your accommodation about internet connection availability before your arrival.
